Robson Ranch Women’s Club – March Luncheon Shenanigans!

Shamrocks, gold coins. and every shade of green welcomed the Women’s Club members and guests to the March luncheon meeting Monday, March 2, in the Clubhouse Ballroom!

President Gayle Coe called the meeting to order and welcomed members and guests to the St. Patrick’s Day celebration. President Elect Lucille Zimmerman introduced first time attendees who, in turn, shared where they moved from, how long they have lived at Robson Ranch, and where they live in the community. March birthdays were also recognized.

President Coe announced our membership is now 354! She also announced the March luncheon attendees donated $506 for the Denton Community Food Center. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Welcome Chairperson Glenda Carr reminded everyone the Robson Ranch Women’s Club social, Getting to Know You and Robson Ranch Who’s Who, would be Wednesday, March 11. The guests would be seated according to their home state. There would be fun games and questions based on the various areas. Everyone was encouraged to wear green and be ready for an entertaining afternoon!

Ways and Means Chairperson Nancy Garre reported all booth spaces and sponsorships for the Home and Garden Show are sold. She thanked her committee members for all their hard work. Nancy also thanked the Women’s Club members for buying raffle tickets.

Special Projects Chairperson Peggy Crandell provided fun details for our first 2020 day outing, Monday, May 18. We will go to Mowdy Ranch, a mustang horse sanctuary in Oklahoma. The trip also includes lunch in Tishomingo, at Blake Shelton’s restaurant, Ole Red. Great fun!

President Gayle Coe acknowledged and thanked the luncheon check-in volunteers, the greeters, and the table decorators who worked at the March luncheon.

Programs Chairperson Rebecca Bradford introduced Lauren Taylor, our March luncheon speaker. Lauren provided an inspiring and informative story of her life with disabilities and how she has incorporated her wheelchair lifestyle into the challenges she experiences. She is also Ms. Wheelchair Texas! She shared how she and Buchanan, her amazing service dog, became a team. Her presentation was very well received.

Please join us for our May luncheon, Monday, May 4, featuring the Trammel Group. This entertaining and hilarious musical parody will have you laughing and marveling at the creativity behind it!

The luncheon menu: salad bar with grilled chicken, diced ham, cucumbers, black beans, tortilla strips, carrots, and mixed cheeses with rolls and butter, and chocolate pie.

Our May charity is the Denton Community Food Center.
