Janet Bracken, a resident of Robson Ranch, was inducted into the University of North Texas (UNT) G. Brint Ryan College of Business Hall of Fame on April 11, 2024. Janet was recognized for her outstanding achievements and contributions to UNT and the surrounding communities. Janet has served as a board member and past chair of the UNT Ryan College of Business Advisory Board since 2016. She and her husband Frank co-chaired UNT’s $250 million Capital Campaign.
Janet has lived and worked her entire career in the Dallas area. She has worked for some of the best-known companies in Dallas, including Hicks, Must, Tate & Furst, and the Centex Corporation. Following her work in the for-profit sector, Janet’s major focus for 25 years was with Big Brothers Big Sisters of North America (BBBS). She was on the BBBS Dallas Board for seven years, as well as serving on and chairing the BBBS Black Tie Ball Committee. Janet and Frank have lovingly mentored many Little Brothers and Little Sisters.
Janet is an active community volunteer, dedicated to improving the lives of others throughout the North Texas area and beyond. She served on the Presbyterian Communities and Service Faith Hospice Advisory Board, helping to raise money and awareness for the Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Dallas, and is a member of the Women’s League of Our Daily Bread and the Denton Benefit League whose mission is to raise funds for local philanthropic purposes and to promote volunteerism.
Janet joins her husband Frank, a previous inductee in UNT’s College of Business Hall of Fame, two of only 50 honorees. The University, our communities, and the nation are a better place because of them.
