Dave Parker
The House Band (host) for the February meeting of the Rock and Roll Martini Group was Susan and David Parker. Susan and David picked Sir Elton John as the featured artist. Elton has worked with Bernie Taupin since 1967 and collaborated on more than 30 albums and sold more than 300 million records making him one of the best-selling music artists. The Rockers (members) and guests wore crazy glasses that Elton was so famous for in his early years. A concert was played with a performance at The Royal Opera House in London where Elton played with the Royal Academy of Music young musicians. At eleven years old, Elton John was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music to study piano. The featured drinks for the evening were Bennie and the Juice Martini, Goodbye Martini Brick Road, and The Drink is Back. Rockers and guests filled in with the usual over the top smorgasbord of appetizers and desserts. It was another over the top event. Until next month, rock on!
