The House Band (host) for the May meeting of the Rock and Roll Martini Group was Wendy and Sam Cessna. As with our tradition, the House Band gets to pick the music. Wendy and Sam picked one of the most successful musical acts of the 70s and beyond, the Eagles. The Rockers (members) were treated to the Eagles Farewell Tour live from Melbourne Australia. The Eagles were formed in 1971 by the two most famous members, Glenn Frey and Don Henley. Henley was another famous Texas musician born in Linden, Texas. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and are known for songs like Hotel California, Take it Easy, Witchy Woman, Peaceful Easy Feeling and Desperado.
Rockers wore Eagles attire, concert T-shirts or anything Aussie. Some of the appetizers and desserts included bacon wrapped shrimp on the barbie, Australian sausage rolls and New Zealand Afghan chocolate biscuits. The signature martinis for the night were the “Envy Martini” and “Margaritatini.”
After a loud night of Rock and Roll, martinis and Aussie food, the group adjourned until next month. Rock on!
