The house band (host) for the April meeting of the Rock & Roll Martini Group was none other than party planners extraordinaire Deb and Larry Nortunen. Deb and Larry planned out a full evening of entertainment, including a special compilation of the musical guests of Saturday Night Live over the past 50 years. Deb and Larry dressed up as Jake and Elwood Blues for a special lip sync and dance, which was a definite highlight of the evening. They even had a quiz on Saturday Night Live, and Rockers (members) Cassie and Jim Richardson and Connie and Greg Metzler won the special prize. A special picture frame was put together for all to have individual pictures in.
To coordinate the food to SNL, Deb and Larry rolled out a New York deli-style sandwich bar and New York-style cheesecake. Everyone filled in the appetizers and desserts. The martinis for the evening were The Big Apple Martini and The Church Lady. It was another rockin’ great time.
No screen doors or martini glasses were harmed at the party. Until next month, Rock On!
