The Rockin’ Ranchers were busy this month with an event to Muenster for the 41st annual Germanfest. Thanks to our hostesses Kathy Marrow, Joyce Brien, Nita Ice, Mary Mullins and Judy Smith for planning this outing. The weather was fabulous with sunshine and warm temperatures. There were crafts and luscious foods for everyone. As we sat down to eat we noticed that there was something different on each plate, and it was all yummy. We sampled juicy sausages, latkes, pork schnitzels, German gyros and delicious lemonade. The day wouldn’t be complete without dessert so strudel and cookies were next on our radar. There was German music under the big tent, and we all had to quiet our feet when the polka was played. And what would crafts be without jewelry at very reasonable prices. This three-day festival attracts thousands where Texas hospitality and German customs meet. We were especially excited to see the tent for The Lavender Farm, which we will be visiting next month in Gainesville. We introduced ourselves and let them know they would be seeing us in May. After we left the festival we all stopped at the German butcher store to make further purchases. We had lots of laughs and a good time for everyone.
