Rotary Club – August 2025

Pilot Knob Rotary Club Recap

Pat Henderson

Andy Eads, Rotary 5790 District Governor, attended the weekly meeting of the Pilot Knob Rotary Club to present Paul Harris Fellowships to nine members of the club. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, to the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty. Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.

Pilot Knob Rotary Club supports the Foundation’s efforts at the local level with service projects throughout the year. During the past year, Pilot Knob Rotary Club conducted five blood drives; assembled 692 food packs for distribution to Niger, Africa; collected 88 pounds of lithium-ion batteries for recycling; assembled 24 backpacks with school supplies; planted a pollinator garden; hosted two “Get Canned” food drives and donated $2,000 to Denton Community Food Center; and donated $558 to Polio Plus focused on eradicating polio.

Pilot Knob Rotary Club meets each Friday at noon in the Wildhorse Grill and is open to anyone who would like to join us.
