Pilot Knob Rotary Club Presents Check to Denton Community Food Center

Pat Henderson

On Jan. 23 Tom Newell, board chair of Denton Community Food Center (DCFC), was the guest speaker at Pilot Knob Rotary Club’s weekly meeting at the Wildhorse Grill. Tom has been involved with DCFC for many years and shared that the current economic conditions are forcing more and more families to seek help with food. Addressing food scarcity is a focus of Pilot Knob Rotary Club, and the club was pleased to present Tom with a check for $1,120 for DCFC. Monetary funds are used by the Center to purchase fresh eggs and milk to supplement pantry donations.

Pilot Knob Rotary Christmas Party

Pilot Knob Rotary Club Celebrates Christmas

The beautifully decorated home of Kim and Jim Snyder was the site of Pilot Knob Rotary Club’s Christmas Party on Dec. 5. After enjoying a wonderful meal, the merriment continued with a lively gift exchange. Linda Bragg facilitated the gift exchange, and music was provided by Rotary members Wes Shipley, Mike Weaver, and Landon Taylor. As is our tradition with all social events, canned goods were collected for distribution to Denton Community Food Center. Current economic conditions are forcing more and more families to seek our help for food.
