The Texas Democratic Party was founded with the goal of giving every Texan a fair shot. Democratic candidates up and down the ballot stand ready for victory this November to march toward a state as great as its promise. And the Robson Ranch Democratic Club (RRDC) is proudly working alongside them to achieve this goal.

Texas is the battleground of battlegrounds. We know it. And all Texans know it. To build on our party’s strength and influence this 2026 election cycle, during its February membership meeting, RRDC brought to the spotlight a dynamic candidate running for Texas House of Representatives District 64.

Christie Wood vowed to bring balanced and informed representation to Denton and Wise Counties, focusing on democratic values based on civility and restoring a collaborative and cooperative spirit with a focus on real issues, not distractions. She pledged to fight for comprehensive healthcare for all, fully-supported public education from pre-K through University, rural water and energy planning, and improved infrastructure for utilities, roads, green spaces, EMT/fire services, and internet accessibility. Christie Wood spoke to the heart of the Democratic Party platform—a belief that no matter who you are, what you look like, where you come from, or who you love, we are fighting for a better, fairer, and brighter future for everyone. Having real conversations about the issues that matter most to people is paramount to achieving these goals. An open forum during the second half of the meeting allowed club members to express “what’s on their minds,” addressing detention centers and deportation tactics; safeguarding the rights of women, LGTBQ+ individuals, and minorities; voting accessibility; funding for public schools; regulation of the AI industry; and the disruption of governmental services and dismantling regulatory bodies.

Texas Democrats are working hard to achieve big victories in 2026.
