Senator Tan Parker spoke to the Robson Ranch Republican Club (RRRC) about major achievements from the 89th legislative session, highlighting the Senate’s significant accomplishments.
Key highlights included passing the budget and investing in infrastructure—especially education (K-12, higher education) and innovation like AI.
Parker asserted that Texas will lead the nation in innovation while protecting its people.
Infrastructure investments also targeted roads.
Texas invested $20 billion in water infrastructure.
Security infrastructure was addressed through the Texas Homeland Security bill, focusing on border security and improved coordination among agencies.
Security measures also covered water, electricity, and communications.
Parker highlighted the launch of Texas Cyber Command, the first of its kind in the U.S.
• Property tax relief removed 68,000 small businesses from the tax rolls. Parker aims to expand tax relief for families.
• Kennedy Bill (Parker) allows children to pray at games in Texas.
• Financial Services: Texas Gold Bullion Depository established; New York Stock Exchange was courted, and this year, the Texas Stock Exchange was launched to create jobs and capital.
Parker believes Texas will become the nation’s financial capital.
On social issues, Parker condemned human trafficking and noted increased prosecutions after new legislation. He also passed a bill for PTSD medication clinical trials at universities, believing Texas science can help.
Parker thanked veterans and emphasized supporting them with advanced technology and educating future generations about their sacrifices.
He reaffirmed a commitment to peace.
Texas has more veterans than any other state.
Parker invited constituents to reach out for assistance or with questions.
He thanked the Robson Ranch Republican Club for its support.
The RRRC appreciates elected officials attending meetings. In November nearly 20 attended. As Denton County’s largest club, RRRC is known for well-organized, informative meetings.
