After a long and cold winter, now was the perfect time to get outdoors to spot signs of spring bursting into life. Such was the case for four brave souls: Vickie Batten, Susan Spisak, Scott Baker and Vicki Baker who were not deterred by the forecasts of threatening thunderstorms as they took to the pavement for the monthly Living Well Committee sponsored walkabout. After one of the snowiest months on record, the walkers emerged from the warm hibernation of their homes to walk the 3.3 mile route around the Ranch on Saturday, March 21, starting at 8:00 a.m. Though there was a nip in the air and the skies were overcast, the rain held off and the weather remained dry.
The walkers enjoyed the first signs of spring, a symphony of birds chirping in the trees, daffodils and hyacinths in bloom and a rain-cleansed freshness in the air. With the great outdoors as their backdrop, they also had the chance to renew themselves, soothe their souls and get ready for the wonderful season ahead.
Living Well walkabouts are held at least one Saturday morning each month, weather permitting. The three-mile routes are clearly marked by directional signs. Come join us next time for a fun walk-at-your-own pace, healthy, social activity. For more information, contact Fred Van Naerssen at [email protected] or Vicki Baker at [email protected].
