The 2016 Spring Co-Ed Softball season is quickly coming to a close, but there is still time to head out to the Robson Field of Dreams to see some of your friends and neighbors compete on the diamond. There are seven teams vying to become the league champions this season, and you will be amazed at the quality of the play.
A challenge softball game between the Robson All-Stars and the University of North Texas (UNT) football team is took place on May 7 at the Field of Dreams. Two years ago this same matchup took place and was a delightful event for everyone. The Robson Kiwanis Club sponsored a cook-out at the game, and just like two years ago all proceeds went to charity. In case you missed it, our “graybeards” actually defeated the young men of UNT in 2014 by a score of 13-8. This year the Mean Green has vowed to avenge that loss. It promises to be a fun, exciting event for everyone; there will also be some surprise giveaways at the game.
With the season ending with the games the week of May 16, a tournament and free picnic is scheduled on May 21. All Robson residents are invited to come out to watch this spectacle and enjoy the free food. We also invite and encourage you to visit our website at www.quickscores.com/robsonranch to see what is happening with softball at Robson Ranch.
With the close of the spring season, sign-ups for the summer league will commence this month with the games starting the week of June 13. Look for announcements on our website and come join the fun!
