Stampers Make a Grand Melody

Cherlyn Conway

Another full house on July 16 in the Bluebonnet Room had several members of Sassy Stampers trying to get away from the scorching Texas heat. Each table was at full capacity in anticipation of the interesting card that was going to be presented to us this month by Marianne Diliberto.

Marianne reviewed the card with us and then let the table teachers take over in going step by step on how to cut, stamp, color, and assemble a grand piano card. What an amazing card and so much fun to do. This piano card will be a great addition to the variety of cards that are made in Sassy Stampers, just right for the music-related folks in our card-sending world. Several Stampers could not make the meeting, so there is a tutorial on the Stampers’ GroupWorks site. We don’t want any Stamper left out of making this “note” worthy card.

A reminder went out to make cards in fall colors of green, orange, yellow, gold, and red to bring to the August meeting for our amazing window designers, Jean Eucker and April Bayne, to do their magic for the window change.

The announcements included the deadline coming up to submit a Christmas card design for the Support Our Troops (SOT) card, which will get sent to the troops for 2022, as well as that the Christmas card packets of 10 same-design cards donated to SOT for the silent auction on Veterans Day, will be due in mid-October. Upcoming dates were announced for our monthly Stampathon and a Swap and Sell sale between members in September.

The holiday party planning has begun. The Stampers can participate in a CPR/AED training class to be held in August. Members can go to GroupWorks for more information. Many happenings going on for the Stampers Club!

Currently, due to the growth of our club and the size of the room where we hold our meetings, we are having to take RSVPs for members only up to 40 for the monthly meeting. With these limitations, we might not have space to offer guests to come visit our club. For residents interested in our club, we are going to have to ask you to contact us at least three days prior to our next scheduled meeting to see if we have availability for a guest.

Stampers meet on the third Saturday of each month. Contact information for our club will be Lisa Olson at 817-903-9894 or [email protected].

Stampers, back to your craft area and start creating and crafting cards. After all, it’s way too hot to be outside and do chores. See you at the next meeting on Aug. 20 for Show and Share.
