The LOLs had been anticipating another fun gathering, and their expectations were met when Peggy Crandell and Sally Baggott hosted a Street Taco Truck and Bar party. Aromas of shredded pork, carne asada, fish, chicken, black bean corn salad, rice and salsas filled the air. Prickly pear margaritas, sangria, various wines and beers awaited us along with delectable snacks including homemade pico de gallo, guacamole and chips. After enjoying the treats and beverages we lined up to construct our tacos. Holders had been made to hold three tacos, and a multitude of condiments were available to complement the main ingredients. Taco shells were filled and overflowed with the tasty fillings. Suddenly the room became very quiet as mouths were busy with more than talking would allow. Full tummies needed a little time to rest as we were told that postre/dessert also would be served. This gave Peggy and Sally time to set up the dessert bar: dulce de leche ice cream, Mexican chocolate sauce, fresh strawberries and sopapillas and honey enticed all. Everyone had to try a little of each. Sighs and multiple “yummies” were heard, unanimously agreeing to the sumptuousness of the sweet treats. The delectable evening came to a close as we departed with full tummies and fond memories of our Street Taco Truck and Bar experience. Who knows what they will think of next!
