The Arlene Pfeil—Jim Gregg Summer Open doubles tournament started in July with ten teams playing a round robin match schedule over a ten-week period. Through week seven, the team of David Jones and John Wyant were in the lead with the team of Norris Drumm and Jim Southard close on their heels. The remaining teams are fighting to maximize their points scoring to move into one of the top three spots. The tournament is expected to end September 12. We hope you’ll come out and cheer your favorite team to victory on each match day during our Wednesday play time.
On Friday, October 12, the Farmers Branch Tennis Club will be visiting and participating in a set of round robin tournament matches. Plans are to start at 10:00 a.m. with match play till 12:30 p.m. After a potluck lunch for the participants, free play will continue until 2:30 p.m. It’s not too late to get started with table tennis during our play times and join us for time of fun and community with our friends from Farmers Branch.
Drop by one of the club’s play sessions (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 2:30 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to noon) and an experienced club player will be happy to help you meet other club players and get you started playing Table Tennis on a regular basis.
