Support Our Troops (SOT) had a wonderful and successful 2025, and we look forward to 2026 as being even better! This is thanks to all the great support we get from Robson Ranch residents, the Robson Ranch management, and the businesses and companies that support our efforts to support our troops and their families. A big thank you to everyone!
We currently support 98 troops. Ten of them are currently deployed to Bahrain, Korea, Iraq, Lithuania, the UK, Italy, Kuwait, waters, and undisclosed. In December of 2025, the shipping team sent out 43 boxes. The total number of boxes we shipped to those deployed in 2025 was 424 boxes. Every month those deployed also receive a beautiful card made by our wonderful Sassy Stampers. Those not deployed receive a card every quarter. SOT members write a greeting on every card sent out. We get lots of thanks from the troops as to how much these cards mean to them.
The Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) met at the Ranch on Jan. 18. They are high school students from Argyle who come with their moms every month. They write letters to our troops and get to listen to a veteran. This month it was Craig Bookman, a former Navy dentist. The YMSL group also participates in many events here at the Ranch.
Our annual SOT Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, April 24, this year. Lots more information on this will be in next month’s article. It is one of our two important fundraisers to support our troops, and we look forward to another successful and fun event.
We also offer flag kits for those of you who want to display the American flag in your yard. We only use American-made flags. The flag kits cost $60 and include the pole. If you already have a flagpole and need a new flag, they can be ordered for $30 and will be delivered to you. The person to contact for this is Quinn Sowell at 940-262-1106.
The Veterans Park Brick Drive is selling bricks honoring veterans. They come in two sizes (4″x8″ for $60 and 8″x8″ for $110). Our new Veterans Brick Committee will be available to advise you as to the wording on the bricks. Forms are available in the drawer under the Tribute Book in the clubhouse and on our website at www.supportourtroopstexas.com.
SOT meets every month on the second Monday at 1 p.m. in the Lone Star Room of the clubhouse. You do not have to be a veteran to be part of SOT. We have so many members who want to support our service men and women. Our meetings are very comfortable and welcoming. So, please feel free to attend. We look forward to meeting you.
