The goodies have arrived!

Our deployed troops are so grateful for the packages and other support SOT provides each month. This is due to the generous support from folks at the Ranch as well as from our generous business and corporate sponsors. Our two annual fundraisers, the SOT Golf Tournament in the spring and our Veterans Day Silent Auction, enable us to support the active-duty military men and women and their families who do so much to protect and preserve our freedoms. We thank all those who gave donations and purchased items at the auction. You are the best! Also, much thanks to the Sassy Stampers who design and make the beautiful cards we hand-write messages in and send to the military men and women we support.
A special guest at our October SOT meeting was Jennifer Alford. She is a Marine working on her master’s degree at UNT and is interested in Veterans Affairs and making it easier for them to get their benefits.
There are also UNT students who are setting up a GoFundMe for RR SOT. They are taking a Social Enterprising class at UNT and needed to choose a charity to support. They chose us and must raise a minimum of $500. They will also help one of our packing teams so they can see what we do for the troops we support. On Nov. 20 they are having a Silent Auction on Denton Square. We have donated a few items to be auctioned off.
At the present time, we support 96 troops. Ten of them are presently deployed in Bahrain, South Korea, Australia, Iraq, Estonia, Singapore, Greece, waters, and undisclosed. We shipped 31 boxes of goodies in October. Since January, 302 boxes have been shipped. Our troops so look forward to these goodie boxes. It is all due to the kindness and caring of all of you.
