Table Tennis class starts

Don Pooley

On April 6, the Robson Ranch Table Tennis Club started the 2021 beginners and intermediate table tennis classes in the Sports Center’s multi-purpose room. Each class is coached by a certified table tennis instructor, Tom Taylor, and is focused on improving the student’s overall table tennis skills, and their understanding of rules, strategies, and tactics used in playing table tennis. While teaching new skills in each session, students are encouraged to have fun and play in a game-like manner during the activities of each class session. Already, students from the Beginners Class are joining in the regular play session activities with other club members.

Table Tennis Club play sessions’ capacity have increased to 24 participants, and doubles play has returned as an option. The Robson Ranch Table Tennis play sessions continue to conform to Robson Ranch and CDC sanitizing and social distancing guidelines. All play session participants are encouraged to practice good hand sanitizing and social distancing habits. Face coverings are recommended on entering the Sports Center, but are not required during active play during the session.

Current table tennis play session schedule times are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon to 2:15 p.m., and Sunday from 10 to 11:45 a.m., in the Gym; and Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 2:20 p.m., in the multi-purpose room.

For the latest updates on our activities and “COVID-19 Re-opening” announcements, follow the club on Facebook at “Robson Ranch Table Tennis Club” (www.facebook.com/RRDTTC).
