Robson Ranch has many volunteers. It’s our core. It’s what makes our community rock solid.
Support Our Troops has had a volunteer at the head for years. Eight years to be exact, from 2008 to 2016. He has grown this organization into what it is today.
We are saying farewell soon to Chuck and Barbara Runner who will be moving away to be close to family. How do you say thank you to a couple who has carried the load for so many, many years? The intent and purpose of that load was to support our military.
The final thank you was on July 4 when Chuck Runner was the Grand Marshal in our parade. It’s our honor, Chuck. It’s our honor, Barbara. There are no words.
Chuck Runner began his Army career in 1963, and it evolved into a career with the U.S. Department of State (Foreign Service) for the next 27 years. It involved long years spent overseas with his wife Barbara and their children. Sacrifice.
After the State Department, Chuck worked in the private sector in crisis consulting and security readiness. We forget that the need for security on multiple levels is not something new.
The Runners moved to Robson Ranch in 2006. We are something better because of the Runners. We are something better because of Support Our Troops. On behalf of our community, we thank you. On behalf of our military, we thank you.
You made a difference.
