On June 11 four members of the Conservative Women of Action Book Club/Movie Discussion Group took a field trip to Cinemark Theater in Denton to see the movie The American Miracle: Our Nation Is No Accident. Those attending were Judy Martin-Tafoya, Joan Connelly, Lisa Rider, and Alice Edmonds. Before the movie, we enjoyed dinner and fellowship at BJ’s Restaurant.
The American Miracle movie took us on a journey through some of the most significant events in America’s birth and rise to prosperity and power. The movie contains countless instances of improbable and unimaginable success. For example:
• George Washington was protected in battle by supernatural powers.
• Mysterious weather conditions favored the movements of the Continental Army at critical battlefield junctures.
• The unique, longstanding success of a revolution unlike any other in recorded world history.
It is difficult to explain the many events like these without allowing for divine intervention. President George Washington described it as “the invisible hand which conducts the Affairs of men.”
Our discussion afterward concluded that God had a hand in the birth of our nation. We agreed that every school child and American should see this movie. The storytelling, acting, and cinematography were all superb.
