Mark your calendar! The Denton Public Library (DPL) will be providing two helpful and informative programs in our Robson Ranch Library this spring. On March 24, they’ll offer the very popular Denton Public Library Cards and E-Reader Assistance Program. On April 14 they’ll return to our library with a presentation on the Denton Public Library website.

On Friday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, DPL librarians will be in the Robson Ranch Library in the CATC building to sign up residents for Denton Public Library cards and to answer questions about using e-readers to download e-books, audiobooks, movies, and other materials available digitally from the Denton Public Library. Expiring library cards can also be renewed. Do you have questions about cloudLibrary or Hoopla? They’ll be able to answer them! To obtain a DPL card, you will need to show a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport, etc.) and some kind of bill/document with your name and address on it. If your photo ID has your current address on it, that will suffice as proof of residency. If you need e-reader assistance, it would be best to bring your e-reader with you to the Robson Library for hands-on help.

On Friday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, the DPL Outreach librarian Haley Phillips will be in the Robson Ranch Library to offer a detailed and informative program on using and navigating the DPL website, www.library.cityofdenton.com. Come discover the varied resources and services the Denton Public Library makes available to the community.

Public libraries offer much more than books these days! Obtain a Denton Public Library card on March 24, and on April 14 at the DPL website presentation, discover the opportunities your library card will bring. The presentation on the DPL website will explore the library’s online catalog, databases, trainings, and digital collection. Attendees will learn how to personalize their online accounts and how to navigate DPL online resources from their home computers.

Meet Haley Phillips, the DPL Outreach librarian, at either of the spring events. Haley is passionate about helping the community take advantage of the services the library offers. She has worked within the library system for over five years in multiple departments before becoming the head of the Outreach Department. Though not a native Denton resident, she loves all things Denton—building, supporting, and inspiring the community through the library.

You might want to check out the DPL website, www.library.cityofdenton.com, in advance of the DPL programs in the Robson Ranch Library. You may discover things you don’t fully understand or areas you’d like to explore further. Haley will be happy to answer your questions at either of the spring programs.

By the way, many residents aren’t aware that the Robson Ranch Library has a website, too: www.robsonlibrary.org. Check it out! You’ll find lots of helpful information there.
