The Olympics, Medicare, and Turkey?

Patti Smith

The 2025 Robson Ranch Olympics, sponsored by your Living Well Committee, kicked off on Sept. 27 with a 2.4-mile walk. Mother Nature was smiling at us that morning with gorgeous sunshine and perfect temperatures. The walk was led by Fred van Naerssen riding his bike and carrying the official Olympic torch. Around 50 residents participated in the walk and enjoyed cookies and water when arriving back at the clubhouse.

The kick-off walk was followed by a month of events, which included pickleball, golf, bocce, volleyball, table tennis, and much more. By the time you read this article, the Olympics will have wrapped up with an awards luncheon on Oct. 24. Look for event results in the December issue of the Pioneer Press.

The Robson Ranch Olympics offers a wide variety of events for all. We hope you were able to participate this year, but if not, look for information on the 2026 Olympics in the coming months. You will want to join the fun!

Our next event was held on Oct. 30 in the clubhouse. We hosted Dan Ballenger, an independent senior insurance specialist, who updated residents on what’s new and what’s changing in the world of Medicare for 2026.

Looking ahead, on Nov. 27, Thanksgiving Day, we’ll have our annual Turkey Trot. We look forward to having you, your guests, and your furry friends join us for the nearly 3-mile walk. It’s lots of fun and a great way to work up an appetite for your turkey dinner and all the trimmings.
