The September meeting of the Rock and Roll Martini Group was something special. A live house concert for the group was hosted by Bev and Keith Daly! Their special friends, Billy and Bobby Alessi, flew in from Long Island New York to perform a special patio concert just for the group. The Alessi Brothers have been playing music professionally since they were teenagers and have sold over 10 million records. In addition, they have written some of the most popular commercial jingles and provided soundtracks for movies. Over the years the Alessi brothers have arranged, produced and/or written releases for many artists including Sir Paul McCartney, Deborah Gibson, Frankie Valli, Richie Havens, Olivia Newton John, and Christopher Cross. The brothers toured with Andy Gibb in his 1978/79 Shadow Dancing tour and contributed background vocals to albums such as Art Garfunkel’s 1979 album Fate for Breakfast and the John Lennon and Yoko Ono album Milk and Honey. Their songs have also been covered by artists including Peter Frampton and Rick Springfield and their songwriting and/or vocals have been featured in such films as The Main Event and Ghostbusters.
The Rockers and guests enjoyed a concert that was over the top! Bev and Keith furnished pulled pork sliders and Appletinis and Manhattans for the group. The Rockers and guests filled in with an abundance of appetizers and desserts. Until next month, Rock on!
