The RR Drama Club Highlights Mary Fabian

Mary Fabian

Mary Ornberg

“I lived in Tulsa, Okla., before moving to Robson Ranch. I wanted a lifestyle to include a golf course, many clubs, and the ability to make new friends. So I built a villa here in November of 2015. I grew up in Wisconsin, then moved to Tulsa to get out of the cold in 1980, raised a family, then moved to Texas in 2015. My career includes being a computer programmer, IT technical support manager, PC support, and software engineer. After an early retirement from Tulsa Electric Utility (35 years), I sold real estate for 15 years before moving here.

“Some of my hobbies include singing, golf, and crafts. Something you don’t know about me is that I love to perform. I’ve sung in choirs and soloed from an early age. Of course, we all get started under the spotlight in high school drama, but in 1995 I joined a professional theater company in Tulsa, Light Opera Oklahoma, and performed for 10 years in 15 productions from Gilbert and Sullivan to operettas and musicals. In 2013 I helped produce a full-length movie with my son and daughter-in-law. I was an extra, besides a handful of other support jobs, but proud to say our movie played on Amazon Prime for 10 years. It’s great to see your name in the credits!

“I’ve not done anything great, just glad to have raised two wonderful and successful kids, been able to grow in my beliefs, sing to the glory of God, and still able to be a part of several activities. I love to tell everyone my first job was with Playboy Enterprises, Inc. I grew up in Lake Geneva, Wisc., where Hugh built his first Playboy Club hotel/resort. It’s still there under another name, but it was a masterpiece in 1968! People ask if I was a bunny. No, that’s where I started my IT career.”

Robson Ranch is a perfect place to enjoy your retirement, thanks to those who start these fun, meaningful, education, and social clubs. I hope everyone supports their favorite clubs and takes part in making sure they continue. Thank you for supporting Robson Ranch Drama Club. The next performance is Oct. 22.
