On a very pleasant evening in December, many residents of the west side of Robson Ranch, including Lockhart, Pumice, Pepperidge, and several other streets, gathered for the Third Annual Reindeer Run.
About 50 golf carts gathered, and each family had put their own special touches on their carts for Christmas.
Debbie and Terry Wegman of Pepperidge Avenue led the group as Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. John and Donnice Brandon of Pumice Lane delighted the group as Santa and Mrs. Claus with a fabulously outfitted winter sleigh followed by snowmen, grinches, and lights of every color.
The route circled the Ranch so that everyone could enjoy the beautifully themed streets, including singing angels, Christmas trees, snowmen, reindeer, Grinches, Ponderosa theme, candy canes, Christmas cards, and so much more. It was such a pleasure to see the homes decorated with such a sense of community and fun.
What a sight it must have been to residents walking their dogs, taking an evening stroll, or returning home from dinner or shopping to see this parade of festive golf carts, and we appreciate the patience of the drivers who waited for us to go by. Calls of “Merry Christmas” and the joy and laughter of grandchildren seeing this parade rang out for an hour on that Friday evening.
The Reindeer Runners gathered in the parking lot of the library after the tour completed, to visit with old and new friends, share some conversation, and then a Christmas toast.
Thanks again to Terry and Deb Wegman and Chris and Julie Jones for putting our Reindeer Run together.
