The UNT Music at Robson Ranch Concert Series opens on Sept. 26 with a sure-to-please performance by the University of North Texas Two O’Clock Lab Band, under the direction of Rob Parton, professor of lead trumpet and UNT Jazz Division chair. The Two O’Clock Lab Band is among the premier collegiate big bands in the nation and focuses on its legendary reputation for heavy swing and outstanding jazz soloists. The Two O’Clock Lab Band is a frequent headliner at highly regarded jazz festivals around the U.S., as well as various music education conferences. The group boasts a recording catalog of 20 critically acclaimed albums and has earned multiple DownBeat Student Music Award recognitions across four decades. The band’s leadership legacy includes renowned jazz educators Jim Riggs, Jay Saunders, and Rodney Booth.
Tickets will be available through Shelbi Berg beginning at 9 a.m. on Sept. 11. Tickets are $15 per person. There is general admission seating. The performance begins at 7 p.m., and doors open at 6:30 p.m. There will be a cash bar.

Sponsoring the UNT Music at Robson Ranch Series is the Robson Ranch Music Scholarship Committee whose primary goal is funding scholarships for music students at UNT, as well as promoting awareness at the Ranch of the world-class music available on the UNT campus year-round. Ten dollars of each admission goes directly to this fund.
