Members of Voices United traveled to the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center in Denton to volunteer at the MLK Day Celebration on Jan. 20 as part of the National Day of Service. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a U.S. federal holiday honoring Dr. King’s contributions to civil rights and promoting community service.
Prior to the members’ assisting with the lunch service, the group attended the program presented by the Center, which featured entertainment by the Unity Chorale and the iPromise Dance Team. Shanice Ready of Stay Ready Enterprises gave the keynote address.
Voices United is a non-partisan group of Robson Ranch women who share progressive values, perform community outreach, provide civic awareness and social contact for members, and have a good time! We’re a 501(c)(3) group. Our annual dues are $25.
