Everyone loves ice cream on a hot summer day, and 18 members of Voices United made a trip into Denton on Aug. 7 to enjoy fantastic ice cream at Beth Marie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream near Unicorn Lake! Beth Marie’s is a favorite of Voices United members, and club-organized movie outings often include a visit to Beth Marie’s after the show!

After everyone had their choice of ice cream purchased, we enjoyed a presentation by Bob Moses, a co-owner of Beth Marie’s. Bob shared with us the original story of the company and why it’s called Beth Marie’s. He also shared a current update about the scope of the company’s operations—it’s bigger than you think—and how they make the ice cream, including naming the flavors! One of their recent flavors was named in collaboration with the City of Denton as “North of Ordinary.”

Everyone who attended enjoyed their chosen ice cream flavors and learning more about a favorite place!
