Eight members of Voices United (Jackie Ford, Elaine Kushmaul, Marriott Terry, Jane Scholz, Sara Shibley, Phyllis Ayers, Diane Van Naerssen, and Tiffany Ramzy), as a part of a Diversity in Action committee activity, went to see the A-rated movie The Woman King.

The Woman King is a fascinating, arousing, and majestic historical epic based on true events of the Agojie, an all-female army that protected the West African Kingdom of Dahomey from slave traders in the 19th century. It stars Oscar and Emmy award-winning actress Viola Davis. It is an intense movie that evoked the comment, “If there is a movie for women, especially Black women, to see at this time, The Woman King is that must-see, powerful movie.”
