What does the Robson Ranch Lions Club do? That is a great question! Most people think of the Lions and immediately think of vision, which is what we are best known for, but we do so much more!
The Lions’ motto is “We Serve.” Founded in 1917, we are renowned for saving sight, but we also feed the hungry, aid seniors and the disabled, care for the environment, and more. Lions are a global service network of volunteers making a difference in their local communities. But what about the Robson Ranch Lions Club? What do we do?
Together we can make a difference! Our club is the leader in our zone for community service, including the number of services we provide and the time spent on these efforts. Here are some of the activities we engage in:
• Child Diabetes: We support five local elementary schools with supplies to assist children who cannot afford them.
• Preschool Eye Testing: We give children the opportunity to start school being able to see the board.
• Eyeglass Recycle Center: We sort, clean, and prepare donated glasses before they are shipped worldwide.
• Environmental Support: We clean roadways in our neighborhoods.
• Sleep in Heavenly Peace: We go out weekly to deliver and set up beds for children who are sleeping on the floor.
These are just some of the services the Robson Ranch Lions Club performs. Are you excited to join us in making a difference? You might be thinking, “Wow, they must spend hours and hours helping people out, and I don’t have that time.” Don’t worry, you don’t need to spend any time you don’t have. You do what you can when you can. We have members who live in Robson part time, and if they are in town and can help out, great! If not, their support by being a member is awesome.
We meet twice a month: one general meeting for all members and one board meeting, which is open to all members but not necessary to attend. We would love for you to join the Robson Ranch Lions Club family! I can assure you that anything you do as a Lion is extremely rewarding.
