Watercolor Workshop

Sandy Hestes

Francesca Romano, the Paint & Palette Club president, will be giving a Watercolor Workshop Nov. 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the CATC, Room 103. She will demonstrate how to create a wet-into-wet background, demonstrating resist methods to create white areas. Additional techniques such as salt resist, glazing, light reflection, and refraction will also be used. The finished product will be birch trees in the forest.

Anyone interested in taking this workshop will have an opportunity to work with watercolors, brushes, and paper. In order to offset the expense of the items, we are going to charge $5 per person to be paid the day of the workshop. Some of you may have a watercolor set and brushes. Feel free to bring them!

Sign up on GroupWorks or on the sign-up sheet in Room 103 of the CATC building. There is limited space, so attendance is based on sign-up order. The workshop is open to Paint & Palette members and anyone who would want to join our group. The membership fee is $10 a year (plus $5 for the workshop).

The group will have so much fun and make a mess, so be sure to wear your old clothes and/or an apron!
