Welcome to spring golf

Stephen Shepard

With the daylight savings time change and warmer weather, spring golf is here. With an unusually warm winter, the golf course continues to improve and show its colors. The Pro Shop will switch to summer hours on March 15 and be open 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Please note that the ball machine has been moved to the main entrance to the Grill while construction continues.

As we play more golf in the warm weather, don’t forget to observe good golfer etiquette. For example, players should carefully repair any divot holes made by them and others using sand provided at tee boxes at Wildhorse 1 and Tee 10 (Mustang 1). Ball marks made on the green should be repaired. Some helpful tips to avoid unnecessary marks on the green are don’t drop the flag or your clubs on the green, lay them down carefully and be careful not to drag your shoes on the green. Players should not lean on their clubs when on the putting green and not use the head of the club to remove a ball from the hole. Also replace the flagstick in the hole carefully so as not to damage the edges of the hole. And don’t forget to rake your steps and ball marks in the sand bunkers and place the rake back in the bunker with the handle pointing toward the tee.

As Robson Ranch residents we are privileged to have a great golf course, and by remembering to practice good golfing etiquette it will remain one of the best in North Texas.
