It’s the little things that count, but I have to say, it was the biggest banana split I’ve ever seen.
Every year, 74 golfers show up for the Pairing Party to find out which one of the six teams they will be on and what color shirt they need to run out and borrow. If you’ve never been a part of the annual WGA Match Play Tournament, you are missing out on a ton of fun. Golf was followed by lunch of fried chicken, green beans, mashers with gravy, and a great big banana split to celebrate the end of a two-day tournament. This year, the 24 men and 48 women golfers were on hand to congratulate the winning Red team of Kathy Calloway, Dan Tomasck, Barb Bettiga, Cindy Sterling, Sue Halsted, Donnie Reed, Judy Markley, Carol Thompson, Leslie Slezak, Ann Brehm, Bob DiFonzo, and Bruce Roach.
Organizers Connie Metzler, Paula DiFonzo, and Stacy Brown did a great job as they stepped into Susan Miloser’s shoes and organized the pairing Party and the two-day golf event. Don’t miss this fun event next year. I’m guessing the banana boats will be even bigger.
