After two previously scheduled attempts were rained out, the Women’s Golf Association was finally able to complete the first Member/Member tournament of the season on August 25. Players paired up with a partner of their choice to compete in a 6/6/6 format. The weather cooperated this time and was actually a little cooler than is normal for late August. We were thankful for that.
First and second place teams in each of three flights were announced as winners. Flight one winners were the team of Paula Bull and Paula Hayes. Second place in flight one went to Ok Cha Cummings and Victoria Pettigrew. The winning team in the second flight was Donna Phillips and Darlene Lamb. This was a close race with a scorecard playoff being needed to determine the winning team. Second place was awarded to Margaret Irwin and Connie Mullins. The winning team in flight three was Susan Miloser and Cindy Bass with the team of Mala Bowdouris and Marianne DiLiberto claiming second place. Congratulations to all the winners. A big thank you goes out to Donna Phillips for organizing the playday and to David Thatcher for handling the score sheets.
