What an exciting feeling when you look down the first fairway and see green instead of brown. That’s a sure sign that our golf days are back in full swing. Our organized play days began again on March 3, and we were all ready to hit the links. Donna Phillips, Alice Wright and Pam Kanawyer have lots of fun games planned for us this year, so be sure you sign up for Tuesday play day by noon on Sunday.
We have been presented with a new challenge (or is it an opportunity?) on hole number nine. We are playing on a temporary green with the par four becoming a par three until reconstruction of the pond is complete. What a nice break from one of the more difficult holes on the course. Too bad it’s only temporary. Remember, ladies, for GHIN scoring purposes you should record 4 plus your handicap strokes on this hole.
The next WGA general meeting and luncheon will be held on March 31. Come on out and play 18 holes and stay afterward for the meeting and lunch. We all need to attend the monthly meetings to give our feedback on decisions that affect our organization. Our first tournament of the year is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21. This is a good opportunity to play a round with your favorite golfing partner and enjoy a nice lunch and social time after golf. Watch your emails for information on registration. Hope to see everybody out for this fun tournament.
