Can a quilter ever have enough fabric? Seventeen members of the Material Girls club plus a few quilter friends put this theory to the test at the Stitchin’ Heaven quilt shop in Quitman, Texas.
Since this was a public trip, they carpooled to Frisco where they caught the shop’s bus and joined up with about 50 other quilters.
Upon arrival at the shop, all of the employees were out front to welcome them. They even served a chicken spaghetti lunch to the hungry travelers and presented a trunk show of new quilt patterns. Technically, it was a book of patterns, and one of the authors was there.
Then it was time to shop. Would you believe a 17,500-square-foot facility and the largest quilt shop in the state? Raffle tickets were passed out based on how much they spent. At about 3 p.m. they loaded up on the bus, holding the raffle drawing on the bus so no one missed out.
The bus made it back to Frisco at about 5:30 p.m. loaded with happy quilters and lots of fabric.
