On Feb. 11 the Wildhorse Lady Niners (WLN) hosted their 2025 kickoff season meeting. More than 130 members (15 new members) attended the event. At the event, new residents were able to become members, buy the 2025 season shirts, have their Golf Genius picture taken, and learn lots of information about the exciting upcoming 2025 season.
Speakers included President Deb Andrews, Travel Chair Joyce Condit, Playday Committee leads Barbara Byrd and Cindy Voliva, and Handicap GHIN expert Jamey Siefert. For the past few years, the WLN board has decided on a theme for playday that also serves as an overall goal for the year. For 2025, our theme will be “Tee’d Off.” This theme was chosen for several reasons, the first being that members will be allowed to choose their tee box this year—red, silver, combo—whatever works for that member! Secondly, we chose this theme giving respect to the mental aspect of the game. Cindy Voliva told the crowd, “We’re going to focus on ridding ourselves of stinkin’ thinkin’ and give ourselves credit for getting out there week after week.”
The golfing season will kick off March 12 at 8:30 a.m. The first playday will be a scramble format. Prizes will be given to every participating member! The invite was sent out Feb. 27, and we anticipate a huge response.
We are excited to start the 2025 season!
