Women Sharing Hope Introduces Its 14th Ministry: I Have a Friend

Women Sharing Hope is thrilled to announce the launch of its 14th ministry, I Have a Friend, dedicated to reaching out to homebound Robson Ranch residents who may feel isolated and yearn for connection. This ministry focuses on fostering meaningful friendships and uplifting the spirits of women who, due to physical limitations, cannot actively participate in social activities within the community. At Women Sharing Hope, we believe that nobody should feel alone, especially in a close-knit community like ours. With I Have a Friend, we aim to share the comfort and joy of companionship and share the love of Christ, creating a vital link that enriches the days of our homebound friends.

Our mission is powerful: to bring the love and friendship of Christ to those who need it most. We want every woman in our community, regardless of her physical ability, to feel seen, valued, and supported. Through this ministry, we seek to find Robson Ranch residents who would appreciate having someone visit them regularly, engaging in lighthearted conversation, games, or just quiet companionship. I Have a Friend exists to remind these residents that they are cherished and that, even from home, they are connected to a vibrant and caring community.

To achieve this mission, we are seeking warm-hearted volunteers who would like to befriend homebound women at Robson Ranch. If you have a little extra time and a big heart, we invite you to consider joining I Have a Friend as a volunteer. Our volunteers will make regular visits to these residents’ homes, offering companionship through activities such as playing card games, chatting over a cup of tea, or simply sharing stories and laughter. These seemingly small moments have a profound impact on both the volunteers and the residents they visit, creating bonds that uplift both parties and enrich our entire community.

The heart of I Have a Friend is in the connections it fosters. For many of our homebound residents, isolation is challenging, and the opportunity to connect with a friend can mean the world. This ministry provides the unique gift of human connection in a very personal way, filling homes with Christ, joy, laughter, and heartfelt conversations. We are looking for volunteers who feel called to make a difference by simply showing up as a friend.

If you or someone you know at Robson Ranch would enjoy being part of this ministry as a participant or volunteer, we would love to hear from you. Becoming involved with I Have a Friend doesn’t require any special skills—just a compassionate heart and a willingness to offer an ear and a caring presence. Whether you’re interested in volunteering or you know of a resident who might benefit from this ministry, please reach out to Women Sharing Hope’s Amorette Windscheif at 979-777-2285 or email her at [email protected].
