Women Sharing Hope’s Good Friday Program Inspires at Robson Ranch

On April 18 the Robson Ranch clubhouse was filled with a spirit of reflection and hope as more than 260 residents, family, and friends gathered for a moving Good Friday program. The morning called attendees to remember and reflect on the incredible sacrifice that changed everything.

The program brought the message of Good Friday to life through a blend of live music, dramatic singing performances, dynamic dance, and heartfelt testimonies. From the opening note to the final word and blowing of the shofar, the event invited everyone present to pause and embrace the true depth of the cross and its significance.

Pastor Kim Broadstreet of First Baptist of Ponder delivered a powerful message titled “Why Was Good Friday Necessary?” His sermon brought clarity and meaning to the day, helping listeners understand why it is called “good,” despite the sorrow it represents.

A stirring selection of songs and dramatic portrayals helped deepen the audience’s understanding of Christ’s journey to the cross. One standout moment was “Via Dolorosa,” sung by Arturo Canizares and Michelle Boscoe. Their performance captured the emotional and spiritual weight of Jesus’ final path.

Another unforgettable highlight was the sign language performances by Lisa Smith, a gifted woman with Down syndrome. Lisa, who has signed on stage with Christian music legend Sandi Patty and other performers, shared her testimony with courage and joy. Her vulnerability, deep faith, and story of trusting God’s direction in her life left a lasting impression on all who heard her, sparking some tears, quiet moments of introspection, and heartfelt conversations among neighbors.

Adding to the morning’s journey, Robson Ranch resident and published author Michael Edwin Q. offered a personal faith testimony. His message, filled with humor, perseverance, and trust in God, resonated deeply with the audience.

Together, Lisa and Michael created a sacred space—one filled with reverence, love, and encouragement. Their presence reminded everyone in attendance of the power of authentic faith and the beauty of shared belief within a community.

There are so many who made this stirring morning possible—too many to mention: the singers, the dancers, the orchestra, the ushers, and all the people behind the scenes.
