Many fashions, a more inclusive seating arrangement and light refreshments available through the show were the hallmarks of the Women’s Club Holiday Extravaganza on Friday, November 16, 2018. Katherine Vess, a Robson resident, familiar with many productions coordinated the event.
Ticket purchase included a social hour with appetizers, followed by the Style Show. A glass of wine and tables of cheeses, crackers, fruit and warm chicken Cordon Blue bites with sauce were presented during the hour.
Each attendee received a detailed listing of the sponsoring retail stores, the models, and the garments presented. A narrator introduced the models, listed the clothing so it was very easy to keep track of and make a notation about each outfit.
Chairs, arranged in small groupings, allowed models to stroll through the audience. This gave the opportunity for guests to closely examine the garment, ask questions of the models, admire fabric and workmanship.
Chico’s, Belk, and Stein Mart supplied the fashions, with Robson volunteers acting as models. There was an amazing array of styles and colors for many occasions. Chico’s model group included six Women’s Club past presidents, and featured a white shirt from Oprah’s Favorite. Belk’s stated goal was fashions featuring wear for home or more informal gatherings. Stein Mart offered holiday clothing in a variety of labels and a mix of styles and colors.
Door prizes from sponsoring vendors were an additional treat.
The extravaganza was an opportunity to see holiday and year-round wear in a festive setting. A show not to be missed!
