With sacks and bundles and packages, the Women’s Club members again answered the call for school supplies for the Denton County Friends of the Family and filled the clubhouse foyer. Pencils, paper, scissors, crayons were just a few from the long list of items. Backpacks of every size, color, depth, description filled in the spaces in the clubhouse at the August Lunch and $992 cash completed the donations.
One hundred twenty-one backpacks, many already filled, along with 40 bags of supplies were loaded and transported by the Friends of the Family representatives. Stephanie Honeycutt, Community Resource Coordinator later shared, “I want to say another big thank you to all the women who donated supplies and money…the items have been top notch and our kiddos are already picking out their backpacks and enjoying the ‘shopping’ process.”
