The Women’s Club will host our monthly luncheon on Monday, June 2. Doors open at 11 a.m., and lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. In June, the Women’s Club will have our own Stand-Up Comedy for Grandma event! You will feel like you are at a comedy club, with an announcer and three young female stand-up comics from Dallas. Be prepared to see the funny side of life as we enjoy this exciting talent!
June buffet: Orange-glazed sesame chicken, fried rice, Asian salad, crunchy wonton strips, miso vinaigrette, and ranch dressing. Dessert is banana pudding.
Luncheon checks are due by Monday, May 26, at 8 a.m. Deposit your $19 luncheon check in the Sports Center, Women’s Lounge, in the white mailbox. You can also pay for your luncheon via PayPal. Check the website at www.rrwomensclub.org.
The charity for the June luncheon is Journey to Dream and is earmarked for a back-to-school shopping event.
For the April meeting, Women’s Club President Donna DeBoever called the meeting to order at 11:15 a.m. Donna advised that to help with congestion in the hallway, the charity table is located at the right side of the stage. Pre-sale tickets to the Candlelight Concert on May 18 will be sold. This concert is an unbelievable experience, being totally lit with candles, with instrumental music of Adele.
Donna DeBoever and Chris Anderson introduced new members, first-time attendees, and guests. There were 11 individuals introduced. During the meeting, we learned that, as of the meeting, we had more than 444 members, and Sallie Wasson announced that 12 new members joined during the luncheon. As a reminder, separate checks are required for annual membership and the monthly luncheon.
Donna reminded everyone that the Candlelight Concert is open to all guests. So, tell your family and friends. Tickets are on sale in the clubhouse and can be purchased through the Women’s Club website at www.rrwomensclub.org/candlelight-concert-pay-page.html.
Lisa Olsen, in Shirley Monge’s absence, celebrated the April birthdays. The drawing for the birthday card, lunch certificate, and lottery ticket was won by Cynthia McPhaul.
Mary Lynn Church and her committee were recognized for the great job on the Home & Garden Show, which generated $15,153.89. A check will be presented to Children’s Advocacy at next month’s luncheon.
Donna reminded members that the Women’s Club has a Facebook page and encouraged members to like and follow us. Also visit the Women’s Club website. Both sites are up to date with the most current information.
Debbie Deverich announced that the May luncheon entertainment would be provided by the Little Elm High School Latin Dance Group performing for Cinco de Mayo and then introduced Dana with Le Fashion Coach for the fashion show. Dana moderated the show, with Gayle Lee providing a few facts about our local Robson Ranch models. The trend is black and white and possibly adding some color. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the fashion show.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
