The exceptional Women’s Club monthly luncheon programs continue to entertain, enlighten, and update!
Monthly luncheons are $19 per person. Reserve a seat by making your reservation payment by the deadline.
As a recap, the September luncheon was held on Sept. 5 and provided an outstanding program. President Nancy Caldwell opened the meeting and reminded everyone that Sept. 11 was coming soon, and the attendees shared a moment of remembrance.
President-elect Lisa Olson introduced new members, first-time attendees, and guests. Shirley Monge celebrated September birthdays with a birthday drawing. The winner was Lynn McCully. The luncheon volunteers were recognized and thanked for their time and efforts.
The Women’s Club currently has 502 members.
Donna DeBoever provided statistics about the Denton County Food Center. It has served 35,708 adults and children, the equivalent of 708,000 meals, since Jan. 1, 2023. Everyone was thanked for their donations and support during the toddler food drive. The winner of the Share Our Blessings drawing was Ceila Hall.
Chris Anderson announced Holiday Market raffle ticket sales kicked off at the luncheon. There are a number of great prizes. Chris called for volunteers, especially husbands, for Friday set-up and Saturday tear-down. To volunteer, call Chris Anderson at 817-683-3823 or [email protected].
Glenda Carr reminded everyone that the Women’s Club Social would be Sept. 28. Everyone was encouraged to wear their favorite sports team shirts or colors.
Gayle Lee announced that, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the guest speaker for the October meeting would be Dr. Charles Kurkul. He would discuss the latest advances in cancer treatments.
On with the program! Gayle Lee introduced the September program speaker, Debby Rogers. She is a Collectibles Consultant and shared tips on how to sort out our belongings and determine whether to keep or sell. She also taught us how to research the value of items. It was a great opportunity to get substantial tips on how to identify “treasure or trash.”
Announcing the November program! The November luncheon is Monday, Nov. 6. The entertainment is the Joyful Sound Quartet. It was formed by friends who enjoyed singing barbershop harmonies and gospel. Their blend of gospel, contemporary, swing, and barbershop is sure to please. Come join the concert!.
