On May 16, 50 Women’s Club members boarded the Steel Magnolias Express luxury motorcoach in the Robson Ranch clubhouse parking lot and began their fun-filled three-day, two-night trip in Natchitoches, La.! Members had requested an overnight trip in the tradition as in previous years, and it came to fruition on May 16 through18! This outstanding venture was organized by Dee Sico, Special Events chairperson.
While on the Steel Magnolias Express, travelers were entertained by the Women’s Club Steel Magnolias Bus Babes who ensured every comfort was attended to, not to mention non-stop snacks, beverages, games, and more! Let’s give a shout-out to Dee Sico, Glenda Carr, Donna DeBoever, Diane Eoff, and Lisa Olson (2024 president elect).
Upon arrival in lovely Natchitoches, everyone checked in at the Chateau Saint Denis Hotel, which was within walking distance of the beautiful Historic District. Everyone decided where they wanted to have lunch before the guided walking tour through the Historic District, followed by a group happy hour and dinner at the restaurant of choice.
On May 17 a Steel Magnolias guided tour was scheduled before free time for lunch, shopping, browsing, relaxing, etc., at one of the many exceptional restaurants and boutiques, all within walking distance. Again, happy hour and dinner were on the sundown agenda, and groups shared a beautiful evening by the Cane River.
On May 18 Everyone boarded the motorcoach for the Melrose Plantation Tour before departing for home. Box lunches were provided upon completion of the exceptional tour. Lunch was then followed by happy hour, snacks, and more fun on the Steel Magnolias Express before arriving home.
It was an exceptional time, and members said they want to do it again!
