Did you know you can have your blood pressure checked twice a month at Robson Ranch? Yes, on the first and third Thursdays of each month, you can have your blood pressure checked from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Pinnacle Sports Center.

The most important thing to know about your blood pressure is whether or not it’s high. A blood pressure reading consists of two numbers, with acceptable ranges for each one. The first, or top, number is called the systolic number. That’s the pressure inside your arteries when your heart beats. The bottom, or diastolic, number is the pressure between beats. You want those numbers to be below 120 and 80 respectively.

According to many physicians, there are five reasons it is important to manage your blood pressure:

1. Improve your heart health

2. Decrease your chance of a stroke

3. Protect your kidneys

4. Improve your quality of life and increase your life-span

5. Reduce out of pocket expense

You can start to manage your blood pressure today by making small changes in your everyday life and monitor your blood pressure on a regular basis.
