Starting in October of 2015 a group of Robson Ranch residents started writing pen-pal letters to 33 third graders at Hilltop Elementary School in Argyle. This continued until the end of May when the final event was a picnic on the patio of the sports center where they excitedly met each other. This was a voluntary club for the children who met during their lunchtime on Tuesdays along with their teacher and Robson Ranch resident Ellen Gilgore. The teacher was thrilled to have this extra practice for the children since there isn’t much time for writing during the course of the day. After eating their picnic lunch on the patio the children got to play cards or board games, and they also could play a little football or pickleball. Many are going to continue to write over the summer. What a memorable experience for all!
