Because of the remodeling of the clubhouse, the January luncheon was on, then off, and then on again. What luck for those attending the January luncheon.

In the business portion of the luncheon, Lucille Zimmerman, president of the Robson Ranch Women’s Club, announced that the primary charity drives this year will benefit The Junction, which is the merger of the two charities—Our Daily Bread and the Monsignor King Outreach Center—the club supported last year.

After a delightful meal, the guest speaker, Dave Lieber, the consumer Watchdog columnist for the Dallas Morning News, provided an interesting talk about a famous newspaperman from another era, Amon Carter. Amon Carter promoted Fort Worth and all of West Texas through his media empire, and became a significant philanthropist in the process.

Lucille Zimmerman announced the unfortunate news that the February and March luncheons will be canceled because of the clubhouse remodeling. But the good news is that the April luncheon, on April 5, will feature one of the most popular Women’s Club events—the fashion show. Le Fashion Coach Boutique will organize the fashion show, using Robson Ranch models. This organization will return on April 6 to the clubhouse, so that the women who fell in love with an outfit during the fashion show can purchase it.

Be sure to put June 5 on your calendar because the Ways and Means Committee will be sponsoring the Home and Garden Show, which is a significant contributor to the charity the Women’s Club sponsors.
