Senior Paws charity drive

Dick Cecil

Robson Ranch Singles Club is pleased to announce that its biannual charity drive, Senior Paws ended on May 22 with a large cash contribution of $1,542 and lots of cat/dog food donations. The donations were delivered on May 23 to the Senior Paws/Meals on Wheels program for Denton County.

Needy senior citizens who receive Meals on Wheels and have pets are recipients of monthly food supplements for their pets. This allows the seniors not to have to share their meals with their pets. Many of these seniors do not have the means to buy food for their pets. Often their pets are the only ones who can give comfort and love to these needy seniors.

The Singles Club is pleased to sponsor this charity drive twice a year as part of its community service outreach. Not only do Singles Club members donate to this cause, substantial contributions come from the entire Robson Ranch community. Maureen Schreiber leads this drive for the club, and we thank her for her efforts.

The Singles Club participates in a variety of social, cultural and community service events throughout the year. We meet every Tuesday at the Grill at 5:30 p.m., so if you are interested in learning more stop by and talk to us.
