As the seasons turn from fall to winter, from winter to spring and from spring to summer, one of the most popular questions I am asked is, “When is the best time to paint the exterior of my home?”

This is a great question that is answered fairly easily. The best time is simply as soon as you, the homeowner, are ready. Each season has what I like to call a brief “window” where you are not able to complete anything outside. For example, there may be excessive rain, temperatures below 40 degrees or any other severe weather we may experience here in Texas. But fortunately we live in a part of the United States where we experience moderate weather year around. The key in addressing the painting of the exterior of your home, no matter what the season, is the preparation of the surfaces to be painted. The preparation of your home becomes all the more important as the weather fluctuates between sudden drops in temperature or dramatic humidity increases such as those that happen in the winter. I consider myself not only a professional in the painting industry, but also an amateur meteorologist because of continually gauging these factors for the homes we paint.

I strive to continually research and use the most effective products to perform in lower temperatures for our winter months and higher temperatures in our summer months so that our Southern Painting Team can provide you with the best painting experience. We are ready and willing to help you feel confident about painting your exterior in any season you desire.
