On Saturday, May 7, the Tennis Club hosted our Cinco de Mayo festivities. The afternoon started with a field of 18 seasoned veterans vying to be the King and Queen of the courts when the dust settled.

The format was again to play four game rounds, winners moving up and losers down a court while changing partners. Much talent was on display, and the best of the best rose steadily until the last round where we witnessed a grueling match between Eddie Salvo and Jerry Killingsworth defeating Jim Gregg and Ellen Gilgore.

The Tennis Club will continue to host themed mixers throughout the year. Next up…Breakfast at Wimbledon on the morning of June 25. Come and enjoy the strawberries and cream after another morning of great tennis, fun and banter!

Members can RSVP now for Breakfast at Wimbledon Mixer on MyGrove.

Don’t forget our ongoing Drop-In Tennis. The format is designed to get the most fun in with no pressure. Open to all skill levels, we do a four game rotation, one game in each of the four stations. They are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 a.m. (changing to 8:00 a.m. on June 1) and Tuesday and Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. (changing to 8:00 a.m. on June 1).

It’s still not too late to join the club! All kinds of fun and instruction are yours for the small sum of $10! A bargain!
